This was a good experience, but felt sad not to do much with the knowledge hungry students from very inner places of Assam. It reminded me my early student life. I was so eager to do something new, more practical but the teachers were not so open with ideas.
This was the multi purpose hall, I gave them some short term modifications. The staff and students helped me to complete some of those modifications. It took some time by the authorities to buy those parts and devices then I was called in to start for my Job. Job-1 to remove the old sound system wiring and installed the new wiring for 6 column speaker boxes and horn speakers. I made 4 parts, Right, Left Inside and Out side with selector switches, so that amplifier will not get loaded and only the required will have the sound.
To do this a wireman was hired to do wiring and students were allowed to watch and help in the work. The wireman was very crud in fixing the screws to casings or switches. He was drilling the hole in the wall, putting the plugs but hammering the screws, that too the screws were counter sunk instead of flat head self thread type. I shown him the sharp edges of counter sunk screw would tare the wire insulation. He refused to do that said “ last so many years every one does this way only You are showing some thing new, never seen this.” This arrangement was temporary so that wooden brackets were made to achieve directional sound. Last two wooden brackets were fitted by students.

But middle of the jobs I was called to do Guwahati for video / Photo job for 22 years celebrations of VKIC building.
